Registration Procedures A person shall be qualified to be registered as a member if he/she proves to the satisfaction of the Board that: he/she has attained the age of 16 years; he/she is of good character and is a fit and proper person to be a member; he/she has completed the Accounting Technician Examination by examinations or exemption, or the Professional Bridging Examination or other subjects as may be prescribed by the Board; and he/she has complied with such requirements relating to relevant working experience as may be prescribed by the Board. Apart from fulfilling the basic requirements, each applicant is required to support his/her membership application with references from an employer, lecturer or other suitable persons as a proof of his/her integrity. Fee structure Application must be accompanied by payment of $500 (membership registration fee) and $600 (annual membership fee). The initial annual membership fee is payable on a pro-rata quarterly basis (see table below), which is then renewable in full on every 1st of January. Associate / Fellow Member HK$ First year annual membership fee Application period 1 Jan - 31 March $600 1 Apr -30 Jun $450 1 Jul - 30 Sep $300 1 Oct - 31 Dec $150 All fees may be subject to revision. A surcharge of HK$110 will be levied for every returned cheque. Associate Member who wishes to change his/her status to Fellow Member is subject to an administrative charge of $500. All fees paid are non-refundable unless application is rejected.
